What Mythicists Get Wrong About Biblical Scholarship (with Kipp Davis)

According to Mythicists like David Fitzgerald and Richard Carrier, Biblical scholarship as a field cannot be trusted. It is overrun by Christians who ruthlessly punish anyone who steps out of line, and because of this scholars in the field can't disagree with the dogma of Jesus' existence even if they wanted to! So we decided we'd bring on Kipp Davis, a Biblical scholar who is NOT a Christian to give his perspective on the field.

2. It kinda bothered me there seemed to be only two views ”Jesus didn’t exist and every academic is in a vast conspiracy” or ”Jesus did exist and everyone else is a crank”. People can just be wrong, smart people, wise people, intellectually honest people. All of us can be wrong about anything.

@reasontodoubt : Ok but please keep in mind that one not perfect episode does not reflect your content as a whole. You guys do a great job, you are allowed to have an off day. 1. I felt it a bit disingenuous to compare academic consensus on history to academic consensus on matters of science. I have as much evidence as I want that gravity and evolution are real. For Jesus I have much less.
